A profound sadness
Overtakes me
A sadness with
Great depth

I gaze in the mirror
Into my own eyes
I see pain there
The pain of heartache

I know that I would
Do anything for love
But when rejection happens
I gaze into the mirror

Long lost dreams
Long buried pains
Long damned hopes
Long dark loves

That is what I see
That is what I know
I hope they can forgive
For what I may have done

It will not be easy
But I will carry on
With or without them
I will love again
