Drifting Away

Drifting away
On a sea of suspicion
An adventure ends?
Because of suspicion

Will it be over
Between you and I
Simply because
We suspect

Mixed signs you give
I know not
What to think
What to do

Perhaps it's nothing
perhaps tis the end
Can we come together
Or will we fall

Life is full of
What ifs
What if she hates me
What if she lies now

She is strong
I doubt she would
Yet I cannot help
But suspect

If I had my way
I'd keep you by my side
Forever, and ever
Until the end of time

Yet you must go
Where you want to
And you must do
what you want to

Force you I will not
Be whom you want to be
If your plans are without me
Then go on without

Yet I would have
And still will now
Go anywhere with thee
Do anything for thee

Yet I hope still
I am not excluded
For I would not wish it
I hope I am mistaken

All a coincidence
Or a portent, I know not
Yet remember always
I'll always care
