Tonight, a friend
Reopened old wounds
He did not know
I do not blame

He reminded me
Of love long departed
Extreme sadness
Fills me now

I now know
That ne'er can I
Be over her
For all time

Yet hide it I will
These feelings deep inside
Try to make
Friendship work

Perhaps with time
It will work
We'll be friends
Hopefully once more
