Ask Me If It Hurts

I try to speak
Explain
But you don't seem to listen
My shouts and screams are only
Whispery threads of breath
Floating past you
Through the air
See that dagger?
Pick it up
Examine it
The blade is sharp
Slicing
So now
Stab my heart
Slice me with it
Ask me if it hurts
Shred my feelings to pieces
Leave them lying
On the floor
Ask me if it matters
Do you care?
I cannot tell
Your face is blank
Void of all emotion
Nothing concerning me
Seems important
So take the dagger
Stab my heart
Slice me with it
Ask me if it hurts
