I Just Want

Nightmares fill my head
In the dead of night
As I reach to touch
The empty space beside me

I imagine your presence there
Next to me in the bed
And reassurance fills my soul
Quelling all my fears

At times like this
I just want you to be here to hold me
But I know that you cannot
So I content myself with dreams instead

In the dark of night
I long to wrap my arms around you
Just caressing in an embrace
And dreaming both together

I just want to be able to kiss you
Lightly touch my lips to yours
Watching you sleep in the moonlit glow
Tracing the line of your resting figure
