All I Want (2)

All I want is to be free
So let me fly away
I need to find myself
What else can I say

These days of being entwined with you
Have faded my very soul
They have taken something of mine
I no longer feel whole

Sever these lingering ties
Break us apart
I beg of you, please listen to me
Let me have a new start

I don't want
To float in your shadow
I want to have the freedom
To venture where I want to go

We once were
But are no more
What we had are but memories
From a distant shore

Leave the past where it is
Let our flame die
All I want to now be
Is a shadow passing by
