Symbol

Round and round it goes
Encircling my wrist
Look, matching on yours
Flipped, reversed and backwards
Hours and hours spent weaving
Knotting, knitting whichever
To make two matching for you and I
Flawed yet perfect, no matter

Worn forever on my left hand
Circling it, binding it
Forever to be yours, you know this
Along with rest of me, I am yours
For all of time as long as I wear this
I am yours until the day I die
And when you wear yours too
We'll be bound til the end of time

Though I haven't always believed
I must say now I do quite so
So let this be a symbol forever
Of my complete devotion to you
No longer buried in my misery
But looking greatly towards a future
When I lie beside you the first time
The first day of the rest of our lives
