Tempest

More violent than a tempest
Sadder than a willow
Darker than the night
More lonely than the sea

For upon this black night
Truly the blackest of all
Memories return to me
Visions of you haunt me

The smell of french vanilla
The darkness of the night
The twinkling of stars above me
All these things do haunt me

For you have brought them
In moments we shared
Shocking, can you remember
Those moments so long ago

Being together
Holding the other
Nothing else to do
But love one another

Now they are but dust
Dust floating with the wind
Never to be remembered
Never to be found again

Now my world is shattered
By the passing of the tempest
Can I live without you
But can I live with you
