Everything or Nothing

To have you here
Hearing, seeing you
Yet never to hold you
Never to hug you
Never to kiss you
Never to be close
Never to be loved

Darkness grows
A pit opens beneath me
A pit of darkness
Of depression
Of death

Death of emotion
Death of feeling
Of love
Of caring

Do you care?
Do you even know
How I love you
Need you
Want you

To hold you thrice
In as many weeks
What life is this
No life for me
No emotion, no love
How can this be

You say you love me
Then say you do not
How can I see
Truth
Reality

To sit near you
To hear your laugh
To see your smile
Yet not to be close
How can this be
What love is this
No love... no love

Say you care
Show you care
For I have you
Yet I do not

To love you, miss you
To dream of you all night
Yet all a fantasy
Nothing is real

What life is this
No life, not at all

For I have everything
In words, in thoughts
Yet I have nothing
In actions, in deeds

Only pain
Only darkness
Only despair
Only alone

What life is this
What love is this
No life
No love
Only nothing
