Jet Black

Under the moonlight
When hid by stormy clouds
The sea turns jet black
As it stretches out from shore

A cold Atlantic breeze
Runs between my hairs
The cold atlantic waters
Wash between my toes

Both feel like ice
As does my heart
For you are not here
Only a strangers voice

The beach is empty
As I begin to cry
The loss of you cuts deep
Deeper than this sea

I see the birds fly high
And know that I could too
If you were only here
To share this moment, we two

What love I once had
Has been taken from me
But if you really love
I'll try once again
