Without Me

Throughout my darkest hours
Throughout my tests and pain
You have always been there
In spirit, at the least

And throughout my sorrow
You have comforted me
Throughout my love and loss
You have been there for me

And throughout it all
I have come to love you
In a way so deep that
Most cannot find it

But this love, like others
Must end in deep sorrow
You must persue your love
And I must learn to endure

Endure the pain and sorrow
Of seeing you with another
Of not being your love
For now and evermore

For without your love
I would have fallen
And with your love
I have learned so much

Learned that to love someone
Sometimes means sacrificing
Your love for their own good
No matter how much it hurts

On the alter of love
I now place my heart
In hopes that someday
You can be truly happy

Without me
