I had a friend once
Who cried each night
Who loved long distances
Who tore me apart

Yet now she is gone
Buried in memory
Taken my force
Oh how people change

I had a friend once
Who loved as I do
Who made me laugh
Who could really see

Yet now he is gone
Buried in memory
Taken by lust
Oh how people change

I had a friend once
Who held me tight
Who laughed along side me
Who was dark as I am

Yet now she is gone
Buried in memory
Taken by pity
Oh how people change

I had a friend once
Who held me tight
Who loved me so
Whom I treasure

Yet now she is gone
Buried in memory
Taken by greed
Oh how people change

I had a friend once
Who was named me
Who was carefree
Who could actually see

But now I am gone
Buried in memory
Taken by love
Oh how people change
